Terms of Use

App License

StampName is licensed to you, not sold. If you obtained it from the Mac App Store, it is licensed under Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement, and these Terms supplement it; where they conflict, Apple's agreement governs. If you downloaded it from this website, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it on the Macs allowed by your plan, subject to these Terms.

Free Allowance and StampName Pro

Renaming files with the direct-download version requires StampName Pro, at the price shown at the time of purchase:

• Yearly: $19.99 per year in US dollars. It renews automatically each year until cancelled.
• Lifetime: $39.99 one time, with no renewal.

Undo is always free: undoing a rename never counts against the free allowance and never needs Pro.

Buying from the Mac App Store

Payment is charged to your Apple ID. The yearly subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, and you can manage or cancel it in your Apple ID subscription settings; see Apple's guide to cancelling a subscription. Use Restore Purchases in the app to reactivate Pro on a Mac signed in with the same Apple ID. Billing and refunds are handled by Apple.

Buying from This Website

• Processor: Payment is handled by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record. Taxes are calculated and shown at checkout.
• License key: After payment, Polar emails you a license key. One key can be active on up to 3 Macs at a time. You can free a Mac with Deactivate this Mac in Settings.
• Yearly subscription: It renews automatically each year until you cancel it through the link in your Polar receipt or by writing to us. After cancellation, Pro stays active until the end of the paid period.
• Refunds: Contact us at founder@stampname.app with your order email and we will refund the purchase through Polar. A refunded or revoked license stops working at the next license check.
• License checks: The direct-download build contacts our license server to activate and periodically validate your key, as described in the Privacy Policy. If the server is unreachable, Pro keeps working for up to 14 days after the last successful check.
• Sharing keys: Do not share or resell your key.

Your Files and Reviewing Names

You retain full ownership of your documents. StampName suggests file names based on text it finds on each document, and that text can be misread or incomplete. You are responsible for reviewing each suggested name before you rename. StampName renames files in place, never overwrites an existing file, and records each rename so it can be undone. You remain responsible for keeping your own backups of important files.

Ownership and Intellectual Property

The software, user interface, design and graphics of StampName are owned by Quan Dang. You agree not to copy, modify, distribute, reverse engineer or decompile any part of the app, except as permitted by applicable law.

Acceptable Use

Use StampName only for lawful purposes and only on files you have the right to access and rename.

Availability and Changes

StampName is provided “as is” and “as available”. We may update features and the price or structure of Pro over time. Changes to an existing subscription's price are handled through the App Store or Polar as applicable.

Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Quan Dang provides StampName without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty that suggested names will be accurate. Quan Dang is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or loss of data, arising from your use of or inability to use the app.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms. Revisions will be published on this page with an updated date, and continued use after they are posted means you accept them.
