Privacy Policy

Data Not Collected

We collect no data about your documents or your use of the app. StampName has no account registration, no sign-in, no telemetry or analytics, and no servers that receive your files. The Mac App Store build does not have the network entitlement, so it cannot connect to the internet. Under Apple's App Store privacy labels it is classified as “Data Not Collected”.

What Is Processed on Your Mac

StampName renames invoices and receipts based on what is printed on them. It reads the PDF and image files in the folders you choose, including text recognized from scanned pages. This processing happens only on your Mac. Document contents, extracted text and suggested names are never uploaded, shared, or sent to the developer or any third party.

What Is Stored Locally

StampName stores the following only on your Mac, inside the app's container:

• Undo journal: a record of the renames you have made, including each file's original and new path, its file identity and a hash, so a rename can be undone.
• Folder access: bookmarks for the folders you grant StampName access to.
• Settings and naming formats: your preferences and any naming formats you save.
• Remembered corrections: corrections you make for a particular sender, so StampName can apply them next time.
• Review draft: the in-progress state of a batch you are reviewing.

This data is not transmitted anywhere. You can delete it by removing StampName from your Mac or by using the data-clearing options in Settings. Standard Mac backups such as Time Machine may include app data under Apple's terms; the developer has no access to those backups.

Your Files

StampName only accesses folders you explicitly grant. It renames files in place and does not overwrite existing files.

Purchases

StampName Pro (needed to rename files) is available as a yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase, through one of two channels:

• Mac App Store build: purchases are processed by Apple using StoreKit 2. The developer never receives your card number, billing details or Apple ID. Your purchase status is checked with Apple on your device, under Apple's Privacy Policy.
• Direct-download build (this website): purchases are processed by Polar, which acts as the merchant of record and handles payment and sales tax under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address, plan and order status from Polar so that we can issue and validate your license key. We never receive your card details.

License Checks in the Direct-Download Build

The direct-download build contacts our license server (a Cloudflare Worker) only to activate your license key and to check periodically that it is still valid. Each request contains the license key, a device identifier that is a one-way hash of your Mac's hardware ID combined with an app-specific value (the raw hardware ID never leaves your Mac), and a device name you can recognise, such as your Mac's name. It never contains document contents, file names or extracted text. If the server cannot be reached, Pro keeps working for up to 14 days from the last successful check. The Mac App Store build makes no such requests.

This Website

This website uses no cookies, analytics or tracking scripts and loads no third-party fonts or resources. Like any web host, the hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard request logs such as IP addresses to deliver and protect the site. When you choose Buy, your browser asks our license server for a checkout link and then goes to Polar's checkout page.

Third Parties

StampName contains no third-party analytics, advertising or tracking code. We do not sell or share personal data. The only third parties involved are Apple (App Store purchases), Polar (direct purchases) and Cloudflare (website and license server hosting).

Diagnostic Information Apple May Share

If you have enabled sharing of diagnostics with app developers in your Mac settings, Apple may provide the developer with aggregated crash logs and system metrics under Apple's own privacy terms. This information does not include your documents or file names.

Children's Privacy

StampName does not collect personal data from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy

Updates to this policy will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
