Rename every invoice on your
Mac
StampName reads each invoice and receipt on your Mac and proposes a clean name from what is printed on the page: date, vendor, number, amount. No uploads, no AI service, no account.
macOS 26 or later. A paid app: try the full flow on bundled sample invoices, then a license key renames your own files. 14-day refund through Polar.
How it works
From a folder of Invoice-0105.pdf to a clean archive.
Open PDFs or scans. StampName reads the text layer, or runs Apple's on-device text recognition on scanned pages.
Every value is outlined on the page itself. Anything uncertain is flagged amber and waits for you.
One click applies the names. Every rename is journaled, so undo restores the original file.
Review
See exactly where each value came from.
Date, vendor, number and amount are each outlined in their own colour on the page. Nothing is invented: a value either points at text on the document or is marked as a fallback.
- Pick a different value with one click
- Uncertain rows stay amber until you confirm them
- Never renames silently
Focus
Spend your time only on the ones that need it.
Clear-cut invoices are ready to apply in bulk. Review mode walks you through the rest, one at a time, with the page beside the fields.
Your format
Name files the way your accountant wants them.
Build a pattern from date, vendor, number, amount, currency and category. Missing parts drop out without leaving stray separators, and the same file always gets the same name.
- Presets, plus your own saved formats
- Live sample names while you edit
- Unambiguous US and UK date handling
Safe
It never loses or overwrites a file.
The undo journal is written before each rename. Name collisions get a suffix instead of replacing anything, and undo checks the file is still the one it renamed. Undo is always free.
Privacy
Your invoices never leave your Mac.
Invoices carry client names, addresses and bank details. StampName reads them with rules that run on your Mac, not with an online service, so there is nothing to upload and no one else's server in the loop.
Pricing
Buy once, rename without limits.
The downloaded app lets you try sample invoices first; renaming your own files needs a license key. Undo is always free.

FAQ
Questions, answered.
What does StampName need to run?
A Mac running macOS 26 or later.
Is it really offline?
Yes. Reading and naming happen on your Mac and document text is never sent anywhere. The app contacts the license server only to activate and check your license key, and never sends document content.
How do license keys work?
After you buy, Polar emails you a license key. On first launch StampName shows an activation screen: paste the key there and activate (later, Settings, License). One key works on up to 3 Macs, and you can free a Mac with Deactivate this Mac in the same screen. If you lose the key, use the link in your Polar receipt email or write to support.
Is there a free trial?
No time-limited trial, but you can try the whole flow first: choose Try with sample invoices in the app to scan, review and rename bundled fictional invoices, free. Renaming your own files needs a license key, which you activate in Settings, License. You can still undo earlier renames from History. See the 14-day refund below if it is not for you.
Can I get a refund?
Yes. Purchases here are processed by Polar. Yes, for 14 days after purchase. Write to support@stampname.app with your order email and we will refund it through Polar, to your original payment method. A refunded license stops working.
Can I undo a rename?
Yes, at any time and for free. Undo restores the original name and checks that the file is still the one that was renamed.
What happens if my yearly subscription ends?
Pro stays active until the end of the paid period. After that the app asks you to renew or enter a new key; your files and history are untouched and undo stays free.
Tidy the archive. Keep the documents private.
macOS 26 or later. Paid app, activated with a license key.
